Overview
This project breathes new life into classic literature by presenting iconic books as broadsheet newspapers. By using large-format spreads, unique layouts, and bold typography, the designs invites readers to experience timeless stories in a new, visually compelling way.
Process
Combining period and modern graphic elements and techniques result an interesting and renewed reading experience for these classic books. The copy fonts were pulled and created from vintage typeface cards originally used in newspaper production. These fonts are then paired with a very modern sans serif to create historical and visual contrast. The first book reimagined was War and Peace, Book 1, by Leo Tolstoy.
Result
The result is a new experience of reading, with an homage to both traditional print and classic literature.
